Shortly after, Wyn Kelley wanted to add more authors to the Melville Morrison archive. As a result, the Archive was renamed as the more encompassing "American Authors Archive." In this first design, I softened the color palette from the Melville Morrison Archive so that the interface would not compete as much with the content At this same time, we were starting to develop Metamedia as a framework that teachers could upload class materials and personalize. Therefore, the structure would remain the same, but teachers could personalize the heading image to say "Herman Melville" (see below). We also began branding projects with "Metamedia."
